November is “Imagine No Malaria” Campaign Month--
Imagine No Malaria is a $75 million effort of The United Methodist Church to eliminate malaria deaths in Africa by 2015. It is a comprehensive effort to deliver a sustainable solution to the malaria burden in sub-Sahara Africa. The great work of Nothing But Nets will continue as part of Imagine No Malaria. Mosquito nets remain a very important tool, and when combined with education, communications and improved treatment, we will achieve a sustainable victory over malaria.
The Minnesota Annual Conference has set a goal of saving 180,000 lives at a cost of
$1.8 million. An anonymous donor has promised to match all pledges made to the
campaign by the end of 2011. What better way to maximize our impact as a congregation and a conference! Imagine No Malaria has something for everyone--how many lives can you save?
1. Make a gift -- $10 will buy a net to protect an entire family in Africa. And, $1,000 provides enough resources to protect 100 lives.
2. Monthly Pledge -- Will you make a small sacrifice each month to help save lives? A simple gift of $28, less than $1 per day, is a great place to start. Just $28 per month will save 100 lives!
Sunday to Save Lives is November 6th-First United Methodist Church has designated our morning worship on
November 6th as “Sunday to Saves Lives.” Be sure to join us as we kick-off our Imagine No Malaria Campaign. There will be something for everyone including the children and youth. Come and be a part of this life-changing ministry!
