Doing God's Work in the World 

Hands on Service projects-

 Fall- school supply bags for local and UMCOR.Winter- Families go Christmas Caroling to shut ins and nursing homes Intergenerational. Valentine Care Shop -Intergeneraltional card making opportunity. The cards are sent to those IN CARE from our congregation. Snack sacks are decorated and packed for the third Saturday  community meal 60-80 people in need are served each month by our church. Spring: Snack sacks given to Salvation Army or for our third Saturday meal for those in our community that need a hot meal. Health Kits for Haiti prepared for UMCOR.  We usually prepare health kits each spring,  but this year there is an urgent need.  The response has been great --THANK YOU!!!!

Son'n'Fun  group has tied blankets and done some knitting projects as well.

   Rock Solid Curriculum has an offering for a service or mission project each quarter.

Bolivia Connections: Our church is connected to both these these Mission Projects in Bolivia. We update the our children at First UMC about the life of the children in Bolivia. Children have written letters and drawn pictures as well as brought their offerings to support both the Graners and Kory Wawanaca Children's Home.  This is an ongoing mission.

            Kory Wawanaca  Children’s Home is a home for abandoned and orphaned children, nestled deep within the Andes Mountains of Bolivia, South America. With its rural setting, this home provides a safe and healthy environment for its children, left otherwise on the streets. The home provides educational strengthening through the community’s school, agricultural skills learned on our organic farm, spiritual growth gained through teaching and loving guidance.
